MERRY CHRISTMAS to ALL

Christmas season is a wonderful time of the year. The snow has filled the yard, but the driveway and roads are now clear. Last night we had a nice time.  We started off with a chicken-bread-potato-carrots.  We followed with a family card game and going out to look at Christmas lights and saw Santa walking down the street.
This year is kind of  different. No longer do we unwrap presents from family and friends Christmas Eve.
My children, are no longer are children anymore, this day had to come.  When one wants the car and the other is excited about joining the Air Force, their futures are about to begin.
This year they needed cash for things we could not put under the tree, so with understand hearts that's what we give this year. It was time to stop buying toys and bless those around us.  New traditions of family activities kept us busy this year.
Santa still came in the morning, bringing small little gifts of joy, but  there were no screams at 6, 7 or 8 AM or pounding on my door.   My kids had done their own thing the night before so this year there was no rush of of opening presents, that made me rather sad.   It wasn't until noon before I saw them again.
There's a little bit of wrapping paper and ribbon on the floor in the living room.  My kids will think I'm a little strange.  I'm not stressed out for them to pick it up this year.  It reminds me of marbles, dolls and books of past years.
I took a picture of them sitting together near the Christmas tree, that will forever be in my  heart.
